Technology—
Dr. Kutas Family Dentistry uses state-of-the-art equipment such as digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, and patient management software and computers which allow you, the patient, to view work being performed on your teeth.

In order to provide our patients with the best possible care, we realize we must operate at the cutting edge of dental technology. Our advanced digital X-ray equipment uses complex sensors that reveal tooth decay, bone loss, cracks and other damage to teeth and oral structures that may not be visible otherwise.

Decay, fractures, and other damage to teeth, gums and oral structures are diagnosed more quickly and thoroughly when viewed using our high-powered cameras. Sometimes patients may not understand their condition, and that can make it hard to comprehend the urgent nature of the care we may prescribe. Advanced intraoral cameras simplify patient education because they allow you, the patient, to see what we see!

Our office uses advanced computing technology and software to track our patients’ progression towards each milestone of their customized dental plan. Your personalized plan takes the guess work out of each visit and allows us to work with your schedule to ensure that each visit is time well spent.

Dental Health—
Proper care for your teeth is an essential part of your physical health. Failure to visit your dentist regularly can lead not only to tooth decay but can also be a contributing factor to oral infection, tooth loss and other more serious health concerns.

What does it mean to practice basic dental care?
Proper and regular brushing and flossing are at the root of basic dental care. Visit your dentist for checkups regularly, and be eat a variety of foods that contribute to oral health—including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and foods/drinks high in calcium (dairy).

Practicing basic dental care is extremely important for several reasons:
Helps prevent painful tooth decay and cavities.
Saves time and money. Better oral health means shorter, more pleasant dental visits. Money not spent on fillings, crowns, and other procedures means more money saved for college and vacations!
Helps prevent gum disease and damage to gum tissue and surrounding bones; damage that can, over time, lead to tooth loss.
Helps prevent unpleasant breath by removing the bacteria that cause it. Frequent brushing and flossing is the best method of such prevention.
Contributes to better overall health.

How can I avoid dental problems?
Dentists and hygienists agree that keeping your teeth and gums healthy requires routine brushing and flossing, coupled with good nutrition.

Foollowing the suggestions below and the suggestions of your dentist will help you maintain the best possible oral health:
1. Be sure to brush teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least twice daily—when you wake up in the morning and before bed—and floss once per day. Flossing teeth properly removes plaque. Buildup of plaque can damage the teeth, gums and surrounding bone structure.
2. Avoid eating candy and foods that are high in sugar (which makes plaque worse).
3. Avoid products that contain tobacco, which can cause not only gum disease but also oral cancer.
4. See your dentist regularly. Infrequent trips can prolong oral infection and decay which may eventually lead to more expensive treatment that could have otherwise been prevented.
5. Be sure to consult with your dentist when you are experiencing pain, sensitivity, or are otherwise concerned about your oral health. Delay in treatment can have undesirable and irreversible results.
